Edible Type: Initial Research

My first thought on receiving the brief was to take it literally, printing with food.

I ran through some ideas; food colouring onto icing, letter-pressing with food colouring, screen-printing with food colouring.

I then thought about other liquid foodstuffs and came across a recipe for liquid chocolate, this seemed to fit really well with screen-printing (the chocolate looks like ink).

I also found this video documenting one studio's attempts at screen-printing with chocolate, they don't reference the potential health risks however, and with all the chemicals surrounding screen-printing this could be a potential problem.

Printing with chocolate would be useless without the paper itsself being edible, so I will now go and source edible/rice paper and look into whether the process is viable and healthy.
