Problems:
- The piece is written in a descriptive manner which doesn't sit well with the rest of the essay. For it to work, I must be more analytical and critical of the final pieces whilst still taking into account the process involved. Bits like 'I was happy with my progress' must be removed.
- Doing a case study of one's own work is a tricky situation in itself, raising questions of credibility and objectivity. However, I believe that the work I've produced reflects everything researched for the essay to a strong enough degree that it should be included.
- What I've produced doesn't yet hit the criteria of a case study as such. This needs researching and then applying.
Going forward, the descriptive piece will go as a standalone piece on my blog, as it works really well in describing in detail the process involved in creating the pieces and the learning of a 'craft'.
This will be accompanied by a short video demonstrating the process and illustrating close up shots of the finished work.
The 'Case Study' in the essay needs some large revisions, in which Simon has said to concentrate on how the finished pieces bring craft into digital and mechanical production.
