COP 2 / 'Global Fashion Brands' - Joseph H. Hancock II, Veronica Manlow, Gjoko Muratovski & Anne Peirson-Smith

I looked for books related to the concept of Luxury branding. This was the most recent and relevant, and at first glance it seems to be on the right lines.

From the Foreword by Allen Sabinson:

'Branding is the story and identity that comes to exist in people's minds, and successful companies are beyond vigilant in their efforts to build stories that reinforce brand identities.'

'Those who are most successful in branding understand that every aspect of their operations - their products and packaging, their stores, their e-commerce and social media efforts, their advertising and associations with celebrities - all must be consistent with the brand image.'

'In successful branding, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts ...'

Georg Simmel - 'Fashion':

'...the well to do initiate fashion in order to define themselves as the upper social class and to segregate themselves from others.'

'It unites those of a social class and separates them from others.'
